Get out your case-modding tools, your tricked out rigs, and your best player vs. player skills because QuakeCon is back for it’s 23rd year!

QuakeCon® will return to the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in 2018, inviting thousands of gamers worldwide to participate in the annual four-day video game festival featuring North America’s largest BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) LAN Party. Founded in 1996, QuakeCon has grown to be one of the most anticipated festivals in gaming, with over 9,000 game enthusiasts from around the globe attending in 2017. This year’s event will feature a number of exciting changes, including the reintroduction of panels and presentations along with three days of exhibits in the QuakeCon 2018 expo hall, which for the first time, will be open Friday – Sunday.

Guests can make room reservations at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center by calling 1-817-778-2000 or going online to: https://aws.passkey.com/e/49568787. A special room rate of $185 per night is available when you reference QuakeCon 2018!

This year’s BYOC will be doubling in size from QuakeCon 2017, so even more participants can showcase their custom computers and join the QuakeCon community to play their favorite games either solo or against one another on the same local area network.

QuakeCon is free for general attendees and open to the public thanks to the support of id® Software, Bethesda Softworks®, the QuakeCon volunteer staff, and the 2018 event sponsors and exhibitors.. This year’s event will offer diverse activities for all, including those who choose not to bring their own computer. Attendees are some of the first to see sneak peeks of Bethesda’s upcoming titles and announcements, while also attending a wide array of panels, presentations, tournaments, workshops and exhibits from leading tech companies showcasing the newest gaming accessories and hardware.

QuakeCon welcomes exhibitors and sponsors to showcase their games, hardware and services. For more information on how to get involved, please email [email protected] or visit www.quakecon.org/sponsorsandexhibitors.

It sounds like the vendor area will be open an extra day to capitalize on that sweet sweet weekend foot traffic.

It also says Vendor hall is only open Friday-Sunday, so it sounds like they are cutting off a day.

So far we know its BYOC only on Thursday, with the exhibit hall being open Friday-Sunday and the whole event byoc and exhibit hall closing some time late afternoon Sunday. Like how Dreamhack goes till 6pm Sunday night. No exact hours yet.

I really like this change. It means a full day of gaming without having to miss any panels/contests.

A solid day of gaming with no distractions of the exhibit hall would be a nice change. But please let bawls setup for Thursday;)

My experience from 2017 and some prior years has been the BYOC *SOMETIMES* opens Wednesday night. In the same fashion I have seen vendor hall and tournament begin to tear-down Saturday night. With them opening Friday, appears it gives them an extra day to setup. Keep in mind this has been my experience, though my recollection may have been damaged by the years of staying up late to play video games. What you just read is not official in any way shape or form.

Just stop by the nearest Microcenter before heading over and you should be good.

Yeah this is going to be great. That first day always felt rushed trying to get to everything and play games.
